Job Overview
The Loan Servicing Specialist III (LSS III) serves as the senior technical resource for loan servicing operations. This position handles the most complex servicing activities, ensures compliance with applicable regulations, provides mentorship to junior staff, and partners with management on operational improvements, audit readiness, and servicing risk management.  A LSS III may be identified as a potential candidate for future leadership opportunities within Loan Administration.
 
Participation in leadership development activities, cross-training opportunities, special projects, and management-related training may be offered to support professional growth and succession planning efforts. Such development opportunities are intended to prepare associates for potential future advancement; however, participation does not guarantee promotion or placement into a management position.
 
Advancement into an Assistant Manager or other leadership role is dependent upon organizational need, available opportunities, demonstrated leadership effectiveness, job performance, technical competency, communication skills, decision-making ability, and the successful demonstration of management potential.
 
Key Responsibilities
In addition to Level I and II responsibilities:
  • Lead complex escrow servicing and exception resolution activities.
  • Review and approve high-risk or complex system maintenance transactions.
  • Oversee participation loan settlement processing and reconciliation.
  • Balance and reconcile complex loan-related general ledger accounts.
  • Serve as the department subject matter expert for HMDA servicing support.
  • Conduct advanced quality assurance reviews and identify operational risks.
  • Assist management with regulatory examinations, internal audits, and loan reviews.
  • Mentor and train Loan Servicing Specialists I and II.
  • Assist with system testing, upgrades, and implementation initiatives.
  • Serve as a resource for loan officers, processors, branch associates, and management.
  • Oversee the administration of Credit Life and Credit Disability programs, including vendor communications, enrollments, claims processing, reconciliations, and compliance monitoring.
  • Participate in department projects, workflow redesign, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with development and maintenance of department procedures and training materials.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration or related field is preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressively responsible loan servicing, loan administration, or banking operations experience.
  • Expert knowledge of loan servicing practices
