Job Summary
The Load Out Technician is responsible for executing safe and efficient load-out operations involving subsea umbilicals and related equipment. This role supports critical offshore installation activities by ensuring proper handling, spooling, rigging, and securing of materials while maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality standards.
Job Description
- Execute load-out, spooling, and material handling of subsea umbilicals and associated equipment
- Perform rigging, lifting, and spooling operations in accordance with approved procedures and lift plans
- Spool umbilicals onto installation reels and directly onto vessels, ensuring product integrity and safety
- Set up and manage routing of umbilicals from yard to vessel, maintaining proper alignment and tension control
- Operate cranes, winches, and other lifting equipment following safe work practices
- Install and verify seafastening of umbilicals, reels, and transport structures
- Support load-out activities, including movement, positioning, and securing of equipment
- Conduct pre-use inspections of rigging, lifting gear, and tools; report any defects or hazards
- Follow all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, work instructions, and quality requirements
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, equipment, and storage locations
- Coordinate with production teams, crane operators, vessel crews, and logistics personnel to ensure safe and efficient operations
- Shift: 6 am to 6 pm / some weekends required
Skills Required
- Previous experience in load-out operations, rigging, or heavy equipment handling preferred
- Ability to work in a physically demanding, outdoor industrial environment
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and lifting practices
- Experience operating cranes, winches, or similar equipment is a plus
- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with multiple stakeholders
- Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
Pay Rate
- $24 per hour (Compensation is offered based on experience, skills, and market factors)
- Differential Pay: $2/HR for shift differential and $3/HR for overtime shift diff
