Overview Advanced Entertainment Technologies IncLive Event Permitting SpecialistCurtis Bay, MDComplianceJob Type: Full-timeRole Summary The Live Event Permitting Specialist supports the Compliance Department by securing all required permits and regulatory approvals for live events, including concerts, tours, and corporate productions. This role ensures that all permitting activities are executed accurately, efficiently, and in full compliance with local, state, federal, and international regulations.This position works closely with Production teams, regulatory authorities, and external partners to coordinate permitting requirements across multiple jurisdictions. The role carries a high level of ownership over timelines, documentation, and communication, directly contributing to the successful execution of events and overall operational compliance.Key Responsibilities Coordinate with Production teams to gather required information and ensure timely submission of permit applicationsPrepare and submit permits for pyrotechnics, lasers, flames, and other special effects in accordance with jurisdictional requirementsCommunicate directly with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) to facilitate approvals and respond to requests for additional informationManage federal permitting and notifications, including submissions to agencies such as FAA and U.S. Coast Guard when requiredDevelop and distribute detailed informational packets for authorities, clients, and on-site teamsTrack permit statuses and ensure all approvals are obtained prior to event executionMaintain accurate and up-to-date permitting documentation within internal databases and project tracking systemMonitor and report permitting-related expenses to support budgeting and client billing processesMaintain and update venue and jurisdictional requirements to ensure accurate, current reference dataSupport Producers with site surveys, feasibility assessments, and regulatory guidance as neededResearch and interpret applicable laws, codes, and industry standards related to live event permittingIdentify opportunities to improve permitting workflows, templates, and internal processesCollaborate with internal teams to develop standardized documentation, procedures, and resourcesOther duties as assignedQualifications & Requirements Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements across jurisdictionsExceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects and deadlines in fast-paced, dynamic environmentsAdvanced prioritization and decision-making abilities to adapt to rapidly changing circumstancesProfessional and effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface with AHJs, executives, internal permitting authoritiesPreferred Experience Experience in live event production, touring, or special effects environments, including permitting for pyrotechnics, flame effects, lasers, or similar regulated activitiesFamiliarity with NFPA standards (1123, 1124, 1126, 160) and other applicable regulatory frameworksExperience coordinating federal notifications and permitting processes with agencies such as the FAA and U.S. Coast GuardExperience working in high-volume, multi-project environments with the ability to manage competing prioritiesExperience developing or improving operational workflows, SOPs, and compliance systemsProficiency with project management platforms (e.g., Monday.com or similar tools)Proficiency with Adobe software, including Acrobat, Illustrator, or
