Job Description
A vibrant, busy, and growing full-service law firm with over 115 attorneys seeks an experienced Litigation Associate Attorney to join its expanding Rochester office. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented litigator who wants to work across diverse practice areas and handle significant responsibility in a collegial, team-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle all phases of litigation, including:
- Drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery demands
- Conducting legal research and analysis
- Taking and defending depositions
- Representing clients in court appearances, hearings, and trials
- Manage litigation files and case strategy independently and as part of a team
- Work directly with clients to advise on litigation matters and provide proactive counsel
- Contribute to business development and client relationship efforts as experience grows
Qualifications
- JD from an accredited law school
- Admission to practice law in New York
- 5+ years of litigation experience in:
- Drafting litigation documents (pleadings, motions, discovery)
- Depositions
- Court appearances and trial work
- Experience preferred in:
- Employment and labor law litigation
- Business and commercial disputes
- Real property litigation
- Contract disputes
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases
- Strong oral and written advocacy skills (writing sample required prior to interviews)
- Comfortable working with senior management and across departments in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook
