Job Details

We are seeking an experienced litigation associate to support a busy practice focused on complex defense-side matters. In this role, we handle a steady stream of litigation work and rely on our associates to take meaningful ownership of cases from early strategy through resolution. This is a hands-on position with direct involvement in case development, client communication, and litigation execution.

Responsibilities

Manage all phases of litigation, from initial case assessment through resolution
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other substantive legal documents
Conduct depositions, prepare witnesses, and participate in hearings as needed
Oversee and execute discovery strategy, including document review and production
Collaborate with clients, experts, and internal teams to develop case strategy
Conduct legal research and provide clear, practical analysis
Maintain consistent communication with clients regarding case progress and strategy
Ensure deadlines and procedural requirements are met across all active matters


Qualifications

Strong background handling civil litigation matters in a defense-oriented practice
Experience managing files with increasing levels of independence
Comfortable handling discovery, motion practice, and case strategy discussions
Ability to balance multiple matters in a deadline-driven environment
Strong written advocacy and communication skills


Requirements

Minimum of 5+ years of litigation experience
Demonstrated experience in insurance defense or similar litigation practices
Experience handling depositions, motions, and case management independently
Strong understanding of procedural rules and litigation workflow
Ability to manage a billable caseload and meet productivity expectations
Licensed to practice law and in good standing
