The employee will provide professionaldevelopment in the focus areas of the Rowan-Salisbury School System StrategicPlan.Key Duties and Responsibilities• Fosters a creative flexible environment so that the school library is anessential part of th learning community• Develop and implement activities that motivate students to read writeview speak and listen for intrinsic satisfaction in learning enrichment andpersonal pleasure• Guide students to become critical thinkers enthusiastic readers skillfulresearchers and ethical users of information• Collaborate with other educators to build and strengthen connectionsbetween student information and research needs curricular contentlearning outcomes and information resources• Develops and maintains resources appropriate to the curriculum thelearners and instructional strategies of the school community• Cooperates and networks with other librariesagencies• Establishes procedures for selection acquisition circulation resourcessharing of resources in all formats• Adheres to and communicates copyright as well as other laws andguidelines pertaining to the distribution and ethical use of all resources• Follows a plan for professional development and actively seeks outopportunities to grow• Works with the principal and school leadership team to provide access toA resources• Works with teachers in the selection of resources that are compatiblewith the A essentials• Advocate for A Schools philosophy and practice across the school• Act as liaison between school staff the school administrative team andA offices• Attend all fall and spring A leadership meetings with their administratorsand co-coordinators• Work with school&rsquos administrative team and A office staff to plan andcoordinate A professional development during the school year andorduring the summer• Stay current on A news and events keeping administrative teamapprised of relevant news and sharing with school staff as necessary• Createmaintain A information on school social media• Visit and observe in classrooms to assess use of A practice school-wide• Develop and facilitate A school displaysTerm of Employment 10 monthsSalary Grade North Carolina Teacher Salary Schedule Local Teacher SupplementMust hold a Bachelor&rsquos degree in education and an activeNorth Carolina Teacher License
