Position Summary
The LIS Technician, under the direction of the Lab Compliance & Quality Manager, provides LIS support to client users. The technician will support all lab departments with project development, test build and validation, troubleshooting, and other IT-related functions as assigned. This position will be full-time, onsite support. The LIS Technician also understands and complies with the Standards of Behavior as well as, department policies, procedures, and regulations.
Minimum Requirements
Education
AS Medical Lab Technology or other related field
Experience
Three years of clinical laboratory experience in a large hospital setting
One year of computer experience in a clinical laboratory setting
Knowledge of HL7 and experience interfacing laboratory instrumentation
License/Registration/Certifications
Certification by an acceptable laboratory registry as an MLT or MT
Preferred Requirements
Preferred Education
BS in Medical Lab Science or other related field
Preferred Experience
Experience with Epic EMR.
Preferred License/Registration/Certifications
Beaker certification
Core Job Responsibilities
Assists in the development, testing, implementation, and operations of the Laboratory Information Systems.
Assists in the building of LIS database and interface files.
Assists with maintenance and troubleshooting of LIS.
Provides on-site support of lab IT functions.
Works as liaison between lab and IT governance.
Must be able to travel between sites as needed.
Maintain all validation records as they pertain to regulatory standards.
