Linguist

We are seeking a skilled linguist to support the Texas Department of Public Safety - Criminal Investigations Division (CID). The ideal candidate will have proficiency in Spanish or another language, along with excellent English skills.

• Conduct linguistic analysis and research on assigned projects.
• Translate and interpret documents, conversations, and audio recordings between the target language and English.
• Provide linguistic expertise across departments and collaborate with team members to ensure accuracy.
• Participate in language assessments and evaluations.

• Requirements include language proficiency demonstrated through assessment, strong communication, analytical, and research skills, and computer proficiency. Preferred qualifications include a degree in Linguistics or related fields, experience in translation or interpretation, familiarity with linguistic tools, and cultural sensitivity.
