**Job Focus:** Supports the College Mission and serves students, employers, and the college community by preparing and providing relevant technical instruction. Under general supervision, prepares relevant curriculum for competency-based instruction in an open-entry/open-exit or lecture environment for a relevant industry. High school diploma or GED equivalent 2. Valid class A CDL license with no restrictions 3. Minimum of five (5) years of commercial driving experience 4. Certified Journeyman license 5. Minimum of four (4) years of experience as a Journeyman line worker 6. Minimum of two (2) years of experience in power line construction 7. Working knowledge of powerline operations equipment 8. Woking knowledge of the National Electric Safety Code 9. Must successfully pass criminal background checks.   **Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:** 1. Demonstrated ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both orally and in writing 2. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations 3. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals  4. Must have open, positive communication skills with the ability to foster a productive learning environment 5. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from students, supervisors, partners, and the public 6. Demonstrated ability to use technology 7. Physical ability to demonstrate, teach, and perform essential functions of a line worker including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, and grasping 8. Ability to demonstrate, teach, and perform work on power poles for extended periods of time using required safety equipment 9. Ability to demonstrate, teach and conduct work in accordance with relevant codes, industry standards, and applicable safety procedures 10. Ability to demonstrate, teach and operate mobile equipment and safety hoist work-related equipment, materials, and tools 11. Ability to demonstrate, teach, and perform installation and maintenance of high voltage components 12. Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with students, employees, and industry partners 13. Maintain regular and punctual attendance 14. Demonstrated commitment to maintaining current industry knowledge through continuing education and professional development opportunities   **Responsibilities and Tasks:** 1. Encourage growth through industry connectivity 2. Prepare relevant curriculum for competency-based instruction  3. Develop and maintain current program and course outlines, goals and objectives 4. Align class curriculum with industry standards 5. Administer Utah State Board of Education skills tests when teaching secondary students 6. Actively assist in accreditation processes  7. Advise, evaluate, and record student progress  8. Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in respective industry  9. Maintain certifications, licensures and accreditation standards for program area 10. Assist with student recruitment, retention and job placement efforts 11. Create, support, and maintain an active Occupational Advisory Committee and industry partnerships 12. Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training area 13. Foster a productive learning and training environment 14. Encourage and exemplify professionalism and good work habits 15. Request and maintain supplies and equipmen inventories 16. Propose required budget and purchase requests; follow purchasing guidelines 17. Prepare and maintain all required documentation and administrative reports 18. Performs other related duties as assigned   **Level 1 Instructor Position. Full-Time, Exempt.**
