Position Summary: Line Cook

Compensation: $22 - $25 / hour

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and standards
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines
• Maintain a clean, organized, and health-code-compliant work area
• Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies
• Ensure food presentation is appealing and consistent
• Prep ingredients and items for upcoming service
• Monitor inventory and communicate shortages to kitchen leadership
• Handle, label, and store food to prevent spoilage
• Follow portion control guidelines and minimize food waste
• Assist in mentoring junior kitchen staff when necessary

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a line cook in a high-volume or upscale kitchen
• Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and equipment
• Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Team player with a positive, proactive attitude
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Strength Demands:

• Lift/move up to 30 lbs (e.g., food boxes, kitchenware, garbage)
• Stand and walk for extended periods (6+ hour shifts with breaks)
• Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and wrist/finger motions
• Occasional stair use to transport food or equipment
• Exposure to hot/damp kitchen environments
