Position Title: Line Cook
Department: Kitchen
Reports To: Chef

Job Summary:
A Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to the restaurant’s recipes, standards, and quality expectations. They work on a specific station (grill, sauté, fry, etc.) and ensure food is prepared efficiently, safely, and consistently during service.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Prepare ingredients by chopping, butchering, sauce preparation and portioning
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen team
  • Follow recipes and presentation specifications
  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
  • Ensure food comes out simultaneously, in high quality, and in a timely fashion
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation
  • Comply with sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Monitor inventory and communicate shortages to kitchen leadership
  • Assist with receiving and storing deliveries
  • Clean up station and kitchen area at the end of shifts

Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Basic knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen equipment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency
  • Good communication, collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Ability to stand for long periods, bend, reach and move in a constantly changing environment, carry and lift up to 50 lbs,
  • Understanding of food safety practices
  • Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely and successfully with the ADA, FMLA and other government standards
  • Previous kitchen experience preferred (but not always required)

Working Conditions:
  • Fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Exposure to heat, sharp tools, and kitchen equipment
  • Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts required

Education & Experience:
  • Current, legal and unrestricted ability to work in the United States
  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Food Service Handlers Certificate that is currently valid.  Company training required as well
  • 2+ year of full service restaurant experience preferred
