LIFT Coach

Primary Purpose

To support the vision, mission, and strategic priorities of ESC Region 12, the LIFT (Leadership and Instructional Foundations for Texas) Coach serves as a strategic partner and executive coach dedicated to transforming school leadership and accelerating student achievement across the region. The LIFT Coach empowers leaders to drive systemic change by translating state initiatives into actionable instructional strategies and successful Texas accountability outcomes.

Education/Certification/Experience

• Master's Degree required
• Principal Certification
• Campus/district administrative/leadership experience
• Experience implementing an initiative or a grant preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills

• Strong ability to collaborate with leaders to establish instructional priorities
• Strong ability to analyze instructional trends and provide actionable feedback
• Partner with district and campus leaders to support Leadership and Instructional Foundations for Texas (LIFT), an initiative focused on change management and leadership effectiveness.
• Support districts in increasing student achievement through professional development, coaching, and technical assistance focused on Bluebonnet Learning curriculum implementation and leadership development.
• Proven ability to lead campus and district leadership teams through systemic school improvement efforts, root-cause analysis, and strategic planning.
• Strong knowledge of coaching methodologies, specifically through job-embedded professional development, to build the capacity of campus principals.
• Skilled in facilitating difficult conversations and leading diverse groups through complex problem-solving processes to reach organizational consensus.
• Deep knowledge of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), statewide assessment protocols, and the Texas accountability system (A-F ratings).
• Strong ability to plan, create resources, and conduct professional development based on client needs
• Ability to research and interpret complex educational policies and translate raw data into actionable insights for school improvement.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; proven ability to deliver effective presentations to diverse groups.
• Highly organized self-starter able to coordinate complex projects and manage program logistics through proactive problem-solving.
• Ability to research/interpret complex policies and translate data into actionable insights using advanced software (spreadsheets and word processing).

• Dedicated to continuous personal and professional growth, including attending required professional development to remain a subject matter expert in the field.

General Responsibilities

• Build leadership capacity by guiding implementation planning, strengthening instructional leadership practices, and supporting systems for sustainable change.
• Ensure high-fidelity execution of instructional strategies and curriculum implementation to improve instructional quality and student outcomes.
• Collaborate with district and school leadership teams to support the successful adoption and implementation of High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM).
• Provide implementation support aligned to key Texas Education Agency initiatives, including but not limited to:
• Bluebonnet Learning implementation
• Texas Instructional Leadership (TIL)
• Research-Based Instructional Strategies (RBIS)
• Learning Acceleration Support Opportunities (LASO)Ability to facilitate difficult conversations and successfully lead groups through the problem-solving process to reach consensus.
• Effectively provide coaching and mentorship to campus and district administrators to improve leadership efficacy and operational outcomes.
• Lead the regional training and implementation of state-approved appraisal systems (such as T-TESS and T-PESS), ensuring evaluators are calibrated and compliant with state requirements.
• Provide direct technical assistance to districts and campuses engaged in school improvement efforts, utilizing data-driven strategies to close achievement gaps.
• Design and facilitate high-impact professional development sessions both at the ESC and on-site within districts, tailored to specific campus needs.
• Train campus leaders on best practices for teacher development, observation, and feedback cycles to improve classroom instruction.
• Proactively stay abreast of current research, emerging trends, and legislative changes in leadership and teacher development to provide cutting-edge guidance to the region.
• Provide consultative support to Local Education Agencies (LEAs) and campus leadership teams to foster "cutting-edge" thinking and modern pedagogical practices.
• Identify and promote regional best practices and research-based instructional strategies to improve student outcomes across all grade levels.
• Maintain and foster positive, proactive relationships with customer school districts and leadership teams through consistent communication and support.
• Communicate and collaborate with regional and statewide partners to represent ESC 12's interests and contribute to larger educational initiatives.

Benefit Information

• ESC Region 12 provides monetary contribution up to $575 per month to use for employee/family healthcare and supplemental benefits
• The employee earns state personal, sick and vacation leave
• All employees contribute to both: Teachers Retirement System (TRS) and Social Security retirements
