The School of Education and Human Development at the University of Virginia (Uva) seeks applicants to teach one-credit academic courses in the Kinesiology Lifetime Physical Activity (Klpa) program for the Fall 2026 semester. Sports and activities (likely) in need of instructors include, but are not limited to:
Courses are primarily scheduled during the day in alignment with Uva's academic schedule. These are not group fitness classes, but academic courses aimed at providing undergraduate students a progression of knowledge and skills to be life-long movers. Preference will be given to full-time enrolled Uva graduate and doctoral students, but we welcome anyone who is qualified to apply. Valid Cpr/First Aid certification is strongly preferred; some classes will require the instructor to be certified in the physical activity discipline. To apply, please submit an application online and attach a cover letter, resume/curriculum vitae, and contact information (position, email, and phone) for three references. The screening of applicants will begin on June 15, 2026. Positions will be filled on an on-going basis according to curriculum needs. The department will not sponsor visas for this position.
