ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Develop, implement, and promote a dynamic Activities Program that encourages resident participation, socialization, and overall well-being.
Plan a diverse calendar of social, cultural, educational, fitness, and recreational activities that appeal to independent, active adults
Preparation of monthly community activity calendar and newsletter.
Actively develop and implement a volunteer program for resident activities.
Coordinate with caterers, entertainers, decorators and others for scheduled events.
Organize and host on-site events, outings, and excursions; serve as chaperone when needed.
Foster a welcoming environment that encourages resident-led clubs, groups, and initiatives.
Collaborate with the marketing team to support community events and prospective resident experiences.
Participate in tours, open houses, and leasing events when needed.
Plan and coordinate seasonal décor and special event decorations to enhance the community environment.
Manage programming within an approved budget.
Any other tasks, assignments, projects or requests as deemed by management.
Community Leadership & Emergency Response: Expected to serve as essential leadership personnel during inclement weather and emergency protocols.
Serve as Manager-on-Duty during assigned weekends.
Required to work weekends to support and participate in scheduled events and activities.
QUALIFICATIONS |
Must be 18 years of age, or older
Must have a satisfactory criminal background check in accordance with state requirements.
Must have a satisfactory credit check.
Must have a valid driver license and clean driving record.
Must read, write, speak, and understand English.
Must demonstrate patience, tact, enthusiasm, and positive attitude towards the elderly.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE |
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with some college preferred.
Experience working with seniors is preferred.
Over two years, up to and including four years in recreational therapy.
State specific training in recreational therapy.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS |
Must have upper body strength adequate to bend, lift, shift, move, twist, and/or assist in moving articles of more than twenty-five pounds.
Must be able to squat, reach, and stretch without distress.
Must be able to tolerate extended periods of walking and standing.
