Job Overview:
The Lifestyle Coordinator will assist in planning, organizing, and implementing comprehensive recreation programs in alignment with the Board of Directors’ guidelines and FirstService philosophy. Reports to the Recreation Manager and regularly interacts with the Board of Directors, District Delegates, Committee members, Residents, Guests, Contractors, External Groups and Associations, Employees, and the General Public. Supports event planning and program development in collaboration with the Recreation Manager. The position typically follows a Monday–Friday schedule but requires flexibility, including availability on weekends for recreation events. Must be a strong team player.
Compensation:$20.00- $25.00/hour
FirstService Residential will compensate the successful candidate in accordance with the posted range. The salary or wage paid to the successful candidate will be commensurate with experience, education, and specific job responsibilities. For positions designated at a client's property, the salary or wage will also be premised upon the client's directive. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
Job Responsibilities:

- Manage and oversee facility room reservations, including coordinating with clubs and groups to schedule, book, confirm, and follow up on reservations, as well as gathering event requirements and setup needs.
- Manage and assist in the preparation of the monthly and annual community master calendar.
- (Back up) Serve as a staff liaison to the Lifestyles Committee and Recreation Committee meetings in the absence of the Recreation Manager.
- Serve as an assistant to the Recreation Department in the absence of the Recreation Manager.
- Assist in organizing a wide variety of special events and activities, including dinner dances, private parties, community celebrations, and concerts.
- Support the promotion of recreational events by creating and distributing flyers, preparing registration forms and rosters, and entering data into the system.
- Perform post event administrative tasks, including collecting payments, preparing bank deposits, maintaining weekly spreadsheets, and organizing records.
- Assist in scheduling and planning residents’ private parties, coordinating with banquet staff, and ensuring compliance with established policies and guidelines.
- Oversee daily setup binders for facility monitors.
- Assist the Recreation Manager in managing and updating the recreation section of the website, ensuring information is current and removing past events.
- Report issues to facility monitors and security personnel as needed.
- Provide general clerical support to other departments as time permits and with approval from the Recreation Manager.

Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals of all ages, including employees, colleagues, residents, contractors, and guests.
- Knowledge of organizational structure, corporate functions, practices, and procedures, as well as modern office equipment (copiers, fax machines, computers, send email, switchboards, radio and ten-key calculators).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to interact effectively with diverse groups, including active adults aged 55 and older.
- Knowledge of principles, practices, and objectives related to program implementation for various age and interest groups.
- Must possess a valid California driver’s license and provide proof of current insurance (a copy will be kept on file by the Recreation Manager)
- Must be available to attend functions and work a flexible schedule, including split shifts, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Education & Experience:
- A minimum of one (1) year administrative & planning event experience
- High school graduate or equivalent and recreation, or a related field preferred.

- Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
- Must be able to stand/move/sit for extended periods of time.
- Must have finger dexterity for typing/using a keyboard.
