This position plays a vital part in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming aquatic environment for all patrons. We are seeking responsible, safety-focused individuals to join our aquatics team in a seasonal lifeguard role.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor swimmers and enforce established water safety rules and procedures
• Respond to emergency situations, including performing rescues and administering first aid, CPR, AED, and oxygen as required
• Assist with swim instruction and aquatic programming as assigned
• Maintain pool water quality, safety equipment, and overall facility cleanliness
• Provide courteous customer service, assist with admissions, and complete required reports

Education & Credentials That Power This Role

Education and Experience:

• Preferred: Six months of experience in lifeguarding or aquatic instruction field
• Special Qualifications:
• Must be at least sixteen (16) years old
• Must possess and maintain the following certifications:
• CPR/AED certification for Professional Rescuers
• Standard First Aid
• American Red Cross Lifeguard or nationally recognized equivalent
• Within six (6) months of position assignment:
• Must obtain and maintain American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification

Your Purpose & Day-To-Day Journey

• Knowledge of local and State water safety rules and regulations, and pertinent rules, regulations, and County ordinances
• Demonstrated knowledge of rescue methods and first aid as applies to accidents in the water and surrounding areas, including CPR and Auto External Defibrillator and oxygen administration
• Demonstrated skill in swimming, water rescues, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and first aid
• Ability to be proactive in regards to safety precautions, to recognize emergencies, and to take appropriate action
• Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergency situations
• Ability to make recommendations and to use resourcefulness and tact in solving new problems
• Ability to prepare effective correspondence on routine matters and to perform routine administrative functions without referral to supervisor
• Ability to handle distressed swimmers and patrons in a professional manner
• Ability to ascertain priorities and meet deadlines and objectives
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, in English
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• Good physical condition and sufficient strength to control struggling adult swimmers
