This position plays a vital part in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming aquatic environment for all patrons. We are seeking responsible, safety-focused individuals to join our aquatics team in a seasonal lifeguard role.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor swimmers and enforce established water safety rules and procedures
- Respond to emergency situations, including performing rescues and administering first aid, CPR, AED, and oxygen as required
- Assist with swim instruction and aquatic programming as assigned
- Maintain pool water quality, safety equipment, and overall facility cleanliness
- Provide courteous customer service, assist with admissions, and complete required reports

Education & Credentials That Power This Role
Education and Experience:
- Preferred: Six months of experience in lifeguarding or aquatic instruction field
- Special Qualifications:
- Must be at least sixteen (16) years old
- Must possess and maintain the following certifications:
- CPR/AED certification for Professional Rescuers
- Standard First Aid
- American Red Cross Lifeguard or nationally recognized equivalent
- Within six (6) months of position assignment:
- Must obtain and maintain American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) Certification

Your Purpose & Day-To-Day Journey
- Knowledge of local and State water safety rules and regulations, and pertinent rules, regulations, and County ordinances
- Demonstrated knowledge of rescue methods and first aid as applies to accidents in the water and surrounding areas, including CPR and Auto External Defibrillator and oxygen administration
- Demonstrated skill in swimming, water rescues, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and first aid
- Ability to be proactive in regards to safety precautions, to recognize emergencies, and to take appropriate action
- Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergency situations
- Ability to make recommendations and to use resourcefulness and tact in solving new problems
- Ability to prepare effective correspondence on routine matters and to perform routine administrative functions without referral to supervisor
- Ability to handle distressed swimmers and patrons in a professional manner
- Ability to ascertain priorities and meet deadlines and objectives
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, in English
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Good physical condition and sufficient strength to control struggling adult swimmers
