Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Works to safeguard swimmers from drowning or other accidents, rescue and resuscitate drowning victims, administer proper first aid, and secure medical assistance, if necessary
- Enforces all rules and regulations while encouraging members to participate in activities through positive reinforcement
- Responsible for the inspection and care of aquatics area and equipment. Reports any needed repairs to the Aquatic Manager
- Performs alert, preventative guarding, safety and direct supervision of swimmers during all open and lap swim opportunities
- Assists the Aquatics Manager and Management Staff in coordination and planning of program related activities and events. Assists with special events held at Aquatics facility.
- Completes necessary paperwork specific to job responsibilities (attendance forms, accident/incident report forms, facility checklists, etc.).
- Responds to emergency situations, following established emergency protocols.
- What you’ll need to be successful:
- Must be at least 15 years of age.
- 1-2 years Aquatic Safety experience preferred.
- Red Cross, Lifeguard certification, Physical swimming skills test CPR and First Aid certified preferred, or willing to obtain within 3 months of hire.
- Must successfully pass all applicable background checks and drug screens
