Life Safety Technician - Bloomington Hospital
Job Description
Overview
- Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
- Location: Bloomington Hospital
Responsibilities
- Works with the campus Life Safety Prints (LSPs) to check compliance of all rated walls, door assemblies, and fire and/or smoke dampers.
- Ensures department is compliant with required inspections and maintains code compliance.
- Performs minor repairs or works with the appropriate vendors and contractors to maintain and repair various assemblies.
- Utilizes the work order system to document inspections and repairs.
- Coordinates updates to the LSPs with vendors as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Requires knowledge with lock, door, wall, and damper assemblies.
- Requires a basic understanding of the Life Safety Prints.
- Requires the ability to read and interpret information from blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
- Requires current knowledge of various federal, state, local OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), and Joint Commission codes and regulations.
- Requires general knowledge of computerized building management systems software.
- An understanding of NFPA Code 80 is preferred.
- Requires a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
