Life Safety Technician - Bloomington Hospital

Job Description

Overview

• Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
• Location: Bloomington Hospital

Responsibilities

• Works with the campus Life Safety Prints (LSPs) to check compliance of all rated walls, door assemblies, and fire and/or smoke dampers.
• Ensures department is compliant with required inspections and maintains code compliance.
• Performs minor repairs or works with the appropriate vendors and contractors to maintain and repair various assemblies.
• Utilizes the work order system to document inspections and repairs.
• Coordinates updates to the LSPs with vendors as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Requires knowledge with lock, door, wall, and damper assemblies.
• Requires a basic understanding of the Life Safety Prints.
• Requires the ability to read and interpret information from blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
• Requires current knowledge of various federal, state, local OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration), and Joint Commission codes and regulations.
• Requires general knowledge of computerized building management systems software.
• An understanding of NFPA Code 80 is preferred.
• Requires a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
