The Life Enrichment Assistant supports the overall Life Enrichment program for nursing home residents at the Trinity Center at LutherPark Community. Responsibilities include one on one engagement with residents,conducting group activities, assisting residents with meals and othersupportive activities as defined in residents care plans.
EssentialFunctions:
Organizeand conduct at least two group activities per shift.
§ Visitand interact with residents one on one and conduct small group activities.
§ Maintainsaccurate documentation of residents' progress and attendance to programs.
§ Completesone on one documentation and charting.
§ Engagewith families, orient them to activity supplies, and provide feedback onresident response to group activities and individual activities.
§ Collaboratewith Trinity Center nursing staff as needed to reduce behaviors, and provideone on one interaction.
§ Serveplated food at meal time and assist residents with eating as defined in theircare plan.
§ Assistresident to and from activities and meals as defined in their care plan.
§ Attendall mandatory meeting and yearly educations and training in accordance withLuther Park policies.
§ Deliverpersonal mail to residents; read upon request or as appropriate.
§ Observeinfection control procedures related to the Activity Program.
§ Assistin maintaining an acceptable level of inventory to perform all activities.
§ Maintainall areas for activities within the community in a safe and neat manner.
§ TheLife Enrichment Assistant maintains a positive attitude which supports teamperformance and productivity.
Experience/EducationalRequirements:
§ HighSchool Diploma/CNA/CMA - required, must be active on the direct care worker registry
§ Preferredtwo years of experience with seniors and/or individuals with dementia
