As one of the first points of contact for residents, businesses, contractors, and developers, you'll help guide customers through the City's licensing and permitting processes while building lasting relationships and helping projects move forward. From answering questions and troubleshooting online applications to coordinating permits and inspections, you'll play an important role in supporting the City's continued growth and development.

Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Licensing and Permit Supervisor, the Licensing and Permit Technician (LPT) position involves multiple administrative and support functions for the Community Development Department with the requirements of high-quality customer service and the ability to handle communications relative to primary duties accurately and consistently. The LPT performs administrative, technical and support functions associated with building and construction permits, licensing, rental housing licensing and registration and records management.

Qualifications
Minimum: High school diploma or G.E.D.; PLUS 3-4 years of customer service or administrative experience OR 2-3 years of customer service or administrative experience and ICC Permit Technician certification.
Physical and Environmental Factors
Work is performed in person in a standard office environment. This is physically sedentary work requiring the ability to sit for prolonged periods; have visual acuity; the ability to process, sort and carry plan sets which require manual dexterity; and the ability to lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally.
Compensation and Benefits
Range of pay for this position is $21.37 to $24.77 dependent on qualifications and directly related experience. This is a non-exempt position and is eligible for overtime pay. In addition, the City offers a comprehensive benefits package including:
