The Department of Behavioral Health is recruiting for Licensed Vocational Nurses II, who prepare patients for procedures; assist medical staff with treatments and procedures; and provide health education, referrals and resources to patients. Duties include providing basic nursing care to patients; assisting physicians and registered nurses with a variety of procedures; conducting home visits to interview patients; and providing education and training for medical providers.

About the Department of Behavioral Health The Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) is responsible for providing mental health and substance use disorder services to county residents who are experiencing major mental illness or substance abuse related issues. DBH provides mental health and substance use disorder prevention and treatment services to all age groups, with a primary emphasis on treating children/youth who may be seriously emotionally disturbed, adults who are experiencing a serious and persistent mental illness, and individuals who are experiencing substance use disorders. DBH also provides an array of outreach/engagement, prevention, and early intervention services. DBHs core values are service, integrity, accountability, and trust.

BLS Certification: Valid Healthcare Provider level Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate (Course Completion Card) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) must be provided within 30 days of employment start/hire date, and must be maintained through the duration of employment.
