Job description:

Greenleaf Landscaping has an immediate opening for a licensed Spray Technician. The Spray Technician performs chemical applications on private and commercial properties and is responsible for reading, understanding and keeping current with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).


Duties:

· Performs routine safety inspections on all spraying equipment.

· Maintains chemical storage and mixing areas in compliance with county, state and federal regulations and is responsible for the safety and direction of chemical handlers and or helpers.

· Operates sprayers and spreaders and read and interpret labels.

· Keep MSDS books current.

· Manage inventory and usage of applications, pesticides, and fertilizers.

· Develops/works with Assistants for pesticide programs.

· If available operate Deice trucks for winter season events.

· Perform other duties as assigned.


Requirements:

· Knowledge of chemical application equipment

· Knowledge in the safe mechanical operation calibration of the following types of equipment: Mechanically pressurized spray equipment, hand-operated spray equipment, hand operated rotary and drop spreaders, utility tractors

· Pest Controller’s License (SPCC)

· Requires current state certification or licensing as a pesticide applicator.

· Current and unrestricted Driver's license

· Must be self-motivated and customer service oriented.

· Strong interpersonal as well as written and oral communication skills.

· Reliable and predictable attendance.

· Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.

· Must be able to frequently sit, stand, bend, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear, stoop, kneel, crouch, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus, crawl, and walk.

· Ability to lift 50 lbs., and to lift overhead and push/pull, move lighter objects.

· The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.


Greenleaf's typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 7am to 3:30pm. We offer competitive starting pay, a health insurance package after 60 days, accruing sick time and PTO and more! We also cover the Continuing Education requirements for your license, and the licensing renewal fees. Once the spraying season has concluded, the is opportunity to work in clean ups, and over the winter we have on-call snow removal that pays a $2.00/hr differential.
