Qualifications: Education/Certi fication: •Master's Degree in Psychology, Educational Psy chology or School Psychology•Valid Driver's License•Certificate from the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists as Licensed Specialist inSchool Psychology (LSSP)Special Knowledge/Skills: •Demonstrate ability in working with other administrators, teachers' students and parents•Demonstrate knowledge of Autism evaluation (preferred)•Bilingual in English and Spanish (p referred)Experience: •Two years of educational experienceMajor Responsibilities and Duties: 1.Conducts extensive psychological evaluations (Autism/Em otional Disturbance) and counseling assessments ofreferred students according to federal and state guidelines.2.Interprets diagnoses to school personnel, other concerned professionals, parents and the student as permitted byconfidentiality laws and Board policy.3. Assists the Admission, Review and Dismissal Committee in the development of an Individualized EducationalPlan (IEP) for special education students .4. Provides recommendations for Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Functional Behavioral Assessm ents(FBAs) which enhances instructional goals and consults with appropriate staff members to ensure the successfulimplementation of the BIPs.5. Conducts individual or group therapy and/or parent/family consultation for special education students requirin gcounseling as and/or parent/family consultation in accordance with the ARD/IEP Committee Report.6.Serves as a resource person concerning disabilities for administrators, teacher and other school personnel.7.Conducts and participates in in- service training pr ograms .8.Attends scheduled staff meetings and committee meetings as needed.9.Keeps abreast of new developments in the field of counseling and psychology and current assessmenttechniques for children and adolescents.10. Stays abreast of current legislative and legal information related to special education assessment, placement,related services and implementation. Maintains appropriate records as requ ired by federal and state law and district policy.13. Cooperates with personnel of community health and social welfare agencies .14. Acts as a liaison between the school and the juvenile court when necessary.15. Monitors assessment materials to ensure adequate supplies.16. Upholds and adheres to safety rules and policies of the SISD safety program.17. Supports the goals and objectives of the school district and follows all district policies .18. Demonstrates the ability to attend work on a regular and routine basis to avoid disruption to district operations.19. Demonstrates a high level of independent, ethical and professional conduct.20. Performs any other duties as assigned by the appropriate supervisor .21.
