Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN)

• Current New York State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing
• Current BLS certification 
• Previous pediatric, school nursing, camp, or community health experience preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
• Comfortable working with diverse student populations and special needs students when applicable
• Basic computer and documentation skills

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to students, whether they need their asthma pump, a band-aid or attention to minor cuts and/or bruises.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and school policies
• Monitor and document student health conditions, symptoms, and care provided
• Respond to student illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies during summer school hours
• Assist with managing chronic health conditions such as asthma, diabetes, allergies, and seizure disorders
• Maintain accurate and confidential student health records
• Communicate with parents/guardians, school staff, and healthcare providers as needed
• Ensure compliance with NYC Department of Health and school health regulations
• Support infection control, health screenings, and safety procedures
• Participate in staff meetings and required training sessions
