Rowan Medical Center is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Wound Care and Hyperbaric Medicine team. In this role, you will play a vital part in delivering safe and effective Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) to patients with complex wounds and other approved conditions. Working alongside providers, nurses, and wound care specialists, you will help educate patients, operate specialized hyperbaric equipment, monitor treatment sessions, and ensure the highest standards of patient safety and care.

What You'll Do

  • Under the direction of the RN/Provider, provides wound-related patient care according to Basic Life Support (BLS) and approved and hospital protocols, Policies & Procedures
  • Prepares, educates and orients patients about the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. This includes lifting or transferring patients per local policy, getting them ready for treatment administration and answering their questions.
  • Administers the hyperbaric oxygen therapy as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Provider to the patient. This includes monitoring and controlling the performance of the hyperbaric chamber equipment, as well as monitoring the patient(s)'responses during the session and making proper adjustments to ensure the patient's safety and the safe and effective use of the equipment.
  • Makes appropriate data entries for daily hyperbaric treatments and wound care clinic visits and keeps complete and accurate patient records as they pertain to treatment documentation, to include photo uploading.
  • Operates and maintains the hyperbaric chamber and other hyperbaric support oxygen systems as required
  • Participates in the safety program activities such as assisting with safety drills
  • May assist with intake and discharge.
  • Gathers patient information.
  • Gathers necessary equipment and supplies for the RN or provider.
  • Reports quality of care issues to Clinical Nurse Manager.
  • Communicates as needed with all team members regarding therapeutic interventions, to ensure quality of care.
  • May function as a Documentation Assistant (scribe) in accordance with Novant policy
  • Performs other duties as delegated.

What We're Looking For

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Graduate of accredited Practical Nursing Program, required.
  • Experience: One year of relevant experience, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Appropriate state LPN license, required.
  • Additional Skills Required: Computer skills, Phone call etiquette, Organizational Skills.
