Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Location: Syracuse, NY

Job Type: 13-Week Contract | Local Candidates Preferred

Shift: Day Shift (5x8 Hours)

Hours: 08:00 AM – 04:30 PM

Pay Rate: $40 - $45/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide direct patient care and clinical support in an acute care and outpatient setting. The ideal candidate will work closely with physicians, registered nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care and efficient clinic operations.

Requirements

  • Current New York State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License required.

  • Current CPR Certification required or ability to obtain/re-certify.

  • Minimum 1 year of LPN experience required.

  • Prior inpatient or acute care experience preferred.

  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Strong patient care and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient care activities in an acute care or clinic setting.

  • Greet patients, prepare examination rooms, and assist with patient intake.

  • Obtain and record vital signs, patient measurements, and medical histories.

  • Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.

  • Administer injections and assist with clinical procedures.

  • Set up trays and equipment for treatments and procedures.

  • Maintain exam rooms and clinical work areas.

  • Schedule appointments and perform general clerical duties.

  • Obtain referrals and insurance authorizations for procedures, imaging studies, therapies, and surgeries.

  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare team members.

  • Observe patient responses to treatment and report findings appropriately.

  • Document patient care activities accurately within the EMR system.

Certification & Licensure

  • New York State Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) License

  • CPR Certification
