The Urology Clinic is located on the 11th floor at the Adult Outpatient Pavilion and provides care to adult patients with cancer cases (bladder, kidney, prostate), various mobility issues and other urologic conditions and diseases. Our staff of RNs, LPNs, CMA, and PCT has a strong team dynamic and prioritizes working together to ensure our patients receive the best care possible.
Our RNs work directly with patients to perform patient visits such as catheter exchanges (urethral and suprapubic), PTNS, and void trials, and also assist with procedures such as cystoscopies and vasectomies. We understand the value of developing trust with our patients and always put our patients first. Our clinic hours are Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm with late days 8:30am-5pm.
LPN Job Description
The LPN job commences to integrate technical skills and theoretical knowledge to meet the needs of the patient and family. This role assists the healthcare team with the prevention of illness and injury, maintenance of wellness, and provision of comfort. This role also provides direction, education, and begins to assume leadership responsibilities at the unit level.
The LPN job delivers and accurately documents direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and an integrated, multidisciplinary plan of care. This role safely administers prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities and/or interactions.

Licensure, certification, or registration varies depending on the incumbents employment background and transitional assignment; LPN licensure in Virginia or eligible.
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Continued Employment
Current LPN licensure in Virginia AHA BLS Certification or equivalent
Experience Requirements
Experience REQUIRED: Varies based on transitional duty assignment.
Experience Preferred
Experience as a LPN in either an acute care setting or as applicable to area of practice.

Education/training REQUIRED: Graduate from a Board of Nursing approved School of Practical Nursing.

Additional Position Requirements
Licensed Practical Nurses work all three shifts, weekends, and holidays. Individual shift rotation and schedules will be established with your specific Nurse Manager/Practice Manager. Schedules, including requirements of shift rotations and hours of work may be adjusted as necessary to meet unit requirements and/or as needed.
