AMI Expeditionary Healthcare (AMI) is seeking dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to support the Hudson Valley VA Healthcare System in New York. This opportunity allows you to provide high-quality patient care while serving the nation's Veterans in a collaborative and mission-driven healthcare environment.

LPNs will work at the Montrose Campus (Montrose, NY) and Castle Point VA Medical Center (Wappingers Falls, NY), providing skilled nursing care to adult, geriatric, psychiatric, and long-term care patients.

As an LPN, you will play an essential role in delivering patient-centered care across a variety of clinical settings, including medical, psychiatric, intermediate care, and nursing home units. Working alongside physicians, registered nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals, you will help ensure Veterans receive safe, compassionate, and effective care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in various clinical settings
  • Observe, assess, and document patient conditions and report significant changes
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with facility policies and procedures
  • Monitor patient responses to medications and treatments and communicate findings to the healthcare team
  • Assist with the development and implementation of individualized care plans
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the VA electronic health record system
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and support staff to ensure continuity of care
  • Deliver compassionate, respectful care to patients and their families
  • Adhere to all VA, HIPAA, Joint Commission, infection control, and patient safety standards
  • Participate in orientation, competency assessments, and required annual training
  • Float between units and care areas as needed to support operational requirements

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing or Vocational Nursing program
  • Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification
  • Active NPI number
  • Active DEA number
  • Strong clinical assessment and medication administration skills
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management abilities
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to successfully complete the AMI credentialing process
