Summary:

As supervised and delegated by a registered nurse, provides direct patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Reports to: Director or Manager of Emergency Department

How You'll Contribute

A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) who excels in this role:

  • Contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.
  • Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and would care; may administer medication.
  • Documents patient care provided.
  • Assists RN with development of plan of care.
  • Assists patient with daily living activities including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition and ambulation.
  • Monitors, documents and communicates patient status and responses to interventions with RN, physician, patient and family.
  • Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
  • Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
  • Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts/units as needed.
  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What we''re looking for

  • Graduate of accredited LPN program.
  • Current LPN license in state of practice
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required)
