Description

A nonprofit services organization in New York City is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to provide compassionate, patient-centered care in a residential treatment setting in the Bronx. This role supports women and children through health assessments, medication administration, care coordination, and follow-up services.

About the Opportunity:

  • Shift: Day shift
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday (with every other weekend)
  • Hours: 1pm to 9pm
  • Setting: Residential treatment facility

Responsibilities:

  • Provide supportive and restorative nursing care under the supervision of medical leadership and registered nursing staff.
  • Conduct health assessments for new clients and review referred client medical histories.
  • Administer medications, maintain accurate medication records, and follow facility medication protocols.
  • Perform technical nursing tasks such as vital signs, phlebotomy, and lab specimen collection.
  • Coordinate referrals, follow-up appointments, and communication with outside healthcare providers and interdisciplinary team members.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED and graduation from an accredited Nursing program
  • Active and unrestricted Licensed Practical Nurse license in New York State
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Current New York State-approved Infection Control certification
  • Training in chemical use, abuse, and dependence specific to the services provided
  • Knowledge of substance use and alcohol dependence populations

Desired Skills:

  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Experience in Family Health, Women's Health, or Holistic Care
  • Experience using Electronic Health Records (EHRs), such as SigmaCare or NextGen
  • Familiarity with Residential or Addiction Treatment settings
  • Mandated reporter training
