Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Location: Syracuse, NY

Schedule

  • Day Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join a healthcare team in an outpatient/ambulatory care setting. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience supporting providers in patient care and office operations.

Requirements

  • Current New York State LPN License
  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required
  • CPR Certification (or ability to obtain/renew)
  • Inpatient nursing experience preferred
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Greet and prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
  • Obtain and document vital signs, patient histories, and clinical information.
  • Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures.
  • Administer injections and perform nursing tasks within LPN scope of practice.
  • Assist with Pap smears and other clinical procedures.
  • Implement nursing care activities under the direction of the RN and care team.
  • Observe, monitor, and report patient responses to treatments.
  • Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and clinical work areas.
  • Schedule appointments and assist with general office operations.
  • Coordinate referrals and obtain insurance authorizations for services such as physical therapy, imaging studies, and surgical procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare staff.
  • Maintain accurate documentation within the EMR system.

Qualifications

  • Ability to function independently with minimal orientation and supervision.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Knowledge of patient care practices in an ambulatory or acute care environment.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional patient-centered care.

Preferred Experience

  • Acute care or inpatient nursing experience
  • Outpatient clinic or physician office experience
  • Electronic Medical Record (EMR) proficiency
