Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
Location: Syracuse, New York
Duration: 14 Weeks
Employment Type: Travel / Contract


Position Overview

We are seeking dedicated Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to support Med/Surg and Emergency Department (ED) units in a dynamic acute care setting. Unit placement will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and clinical background.


Shift Details

  • Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holiday coverage required as needed

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in an acute care environment under RN supervision
  • Perform routine nursing tasks including vital signs, patient assessments, and documentation
  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist physicians during procedures
  • Administer injections and assist with clinical procedures such as pap smears
  • Set up and maintain exam rooms and clinical areas
  • Perform EKGs, IV insertions, and phlebotomy (as applicable)
  • Monitor and report patient responses to treatments
  • Assist with patient flow, scheduling, chart preparation, and general administrative duties
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Support unit operations and participate in nursing unit activities

Required Qualifications

  • Active New York State LPN License
  • Minimum 1 year of LPN experience
  • Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain/renew)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Capability to perform patient care with minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior inpatient hospital experience
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
  • Skills in:
    • Phlebotomy
    • IV insertion
    • EKG application
