Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Long-Term Care

Location: Bismarck, ND
Duration: 8-Week Assignment
Shift: Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Schedule: 12-Hour Shifts | 36/48-Hour Rotation

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide high-quality nursing care in a long-term care setting. The ideal candidate will support residents' physical, emotional, and medical needs while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure exceptional patient outcomes and resident-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to residents in accordance with individualized care plans.
  • Administer medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions safely and accurately.
  • Monitor and assess resident health conditions, documenting findings and reporting changes promptly.
  • Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharge procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and timely nursing documentation.
  • Collaborate with physicians, registered nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
  • Support implementation and evaluation of resident care plans.
  • Promote resident safety, dignity, comfort, and quality of life.
  • Ensure compliance with facility policies, nursing standards, and state regulations.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, infection prevention practices, and staff meetings.
  • Educate residents and family members regarding care plans, medications, and health management.
  • Respond effectively to resident needs, emergencies, and changes in condition.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active North Dakota Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required.
  • Current CPR/BLS Certification preferred.

Experience

  • Previous experience in Long-Term Care (LTC), Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF), or geriatric care preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong clinical assessment and nursing skills.
  • Knowledge of medication administration and resident care practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.
