Job Summary
The Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team. As an LPN, you will provide high-quality patient care, administer medications, and participate in patient care planning and treatment team activities.
Job Requirements
- Starting pay is approximately $58,000 based on shift assignments.
- Ohio has joined the Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) which allows an LPN to hold one multistate license in their primary state of residence while practicing virtually or over state lines in 37 other compact states across the country.
- Provides patient care as directed, documents patient-related care timely within the electronic health record, and maintains patient medical records.
- Administers medication, including oral and intramuscular medications, may administer intravenous therapy if appropriately certified.
- Performs treatments, assists with Doctors Sick Call, and participates in patient care planning and treatment team activities.
- Responds to emergencies, provides emergency care, and collects vital signs and documents all findings.
- Collects urine and/or other body fluid specimens, may perform venipuncture to obtain blood samples for laboratory analysis, and prepares patients for release and/or transfer.
- Ensures discharge medication orders are completed and timely forwarded to pharmacy services.
- Participates in work-related training and all institution training exercises as assigned.
- Provides assistance to other healthcare staff, investigates and documents problem areas and/or areas of concern, and reviews shift report from preceding shifts.
