About the Position

The individual will render general nursing care to each person in the home by administering prescribed medications and therapeutic treatment, ensuring these are delivered safely, timely, and accurately. The individual observes, records, and reports to appropriate personnel the general and specific physical and medical conditions of each person. Reports any acute changes in health status to the registered nurse supervisor, physician, and/or nurse practitioner. The individual will ensure that each person will be seen in the community eye and dental clinics as ordered and as needed, and will ensure that each person will be seen in the community clinic as needed. Will provide continuity of nursing care through charting, monthly records, and organizing each persons medical file as per Ellisville State School Policy and Procedures. Will perform assigned duties from supervisors in accordance with the MS Board of Nursing rules and regulations and Ellisville State School Policies and Procedures. Subject to working with persons served in a dorm setting as needed. The individual must have a valid Mississippi Drivers License and a safe driving record as outlined in the Ellisville State School Safety Manual. - Vacancy is at the Lumberton Community Homes.
