Qualifications and responsibilities for this Licensed Land Surveyor position include:
- Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in the State of Illinois – Lead and deliver survey projects from proposal through close-out while ensuring compliance with professional standards
- Two-year degree in surveying or appropriate bachelor’s degree – Prepare detailed surveys, legal descriptions, and functional plat exhibits with precision and accuracy
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience as a licensed professional surveyor – Manage and coordinate multiple survey crews to meet scope, schedule, and budget requirements
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D – Produce high-quality, reliable survey deliverables and assist design teams with scope, cost, and scheduling input
- Working knowledge of Trimble RTK GPS, Robotic Total Station, and data collectors – Oversee field operations, control points, and construction phase layout
- Strong leadership and communication skills – Train, supervise, and mentor survey staff while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Experience researching survey data and coordinate geometry – Ensure accuracy in calculations, plotting, and documentation
- Ability to drive a work vehicle and perform strenuous field work – Balance productive time between office and field responsibilities
Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience
