Job Title: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Mental Health Counselor (MHC)

Compensation: $68/hour

Hours: 20-24 hours per week, flexible schedule

Job Overview:
The LCSW or MHC will provide comprehensive mental health services as a contractor including assessments, short-term counseling, case management, and crisis intervention, primarily for adolescents and young adults who are in a federally funded career training program. The role emphasizes collaboration with other health professionals to ensure students receive integrated care that supports their educational and vocational success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assessment & Diagnosis
• Review student mental health histories and conduct assessments within the first week of arrival.
• Participate in weekly Reasonable Accommodation meetings and support disability services coordination.
• Provide mental health intakes, establish DSM diagnoses, and develop management plans.
• Mental Health Promotion & Education
• Present mental health topics focusing on employability during orientation and throughout the student’s time in the program.
• Coordinate annual mental health promotion events and offer education for staff and students.
• Staff Development & Consultation
• Provide monthly clinical consultations to center leadership.
• Offer staff development training focused on mental health strategies and techniques to enhance student success.
• Intervention & Treatment
• Deliver short-term counseling (up to 6 sessions) and case management focusing on retention and employability.
• Collaborate with medical staff on psychotropic medication monitoring.

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree
• Active unrestricted LCSW license in New York
• Experience in adolescent mental health counseling (1 year minimum)
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
