Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:Presents library awareness programs and lessons on literature and library filing system.Reads to small groups or classes of students.Types and processes orders, reports, bibliographies, forms, library schedules, letters to publishers, catalog cards and the like.Selects, orders and receives books.Maintains files of catalog cards, vertical file material, publishers' catalogs and the like.Writes notices to homeroom teachers and parents concerning overdue books and collects fines for such books.Makes simple repairs on damaged books and processes more severely damaged books for repair.Prepares current magazines for shelving and maintains the back‑number stacks.Performs the annual inventory of library materials and the preparation of lists of missing books and books to be discarded.Shelves incoming books.Maintains current inventory of supplies and AV equipment; orders items for acquisition as needed and performs minor repair on machines.Oversees the general neatness and attractiveness of the library and its displays.Helps students locate reference materials and other instructional materials.Assists teachers in selecting reading material related to curriculum.Performs other related duties as required by supervisor.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSEducation, Training, and Experience GuidelinesHigh School Diploma or GEDTwo years previous experience in library management; school library experience preferred.Demonstrated compassion and understanding for children.Ability to work and communicate effectively with students, staff members, and parents.Knowledge of:Office procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.Skill in:Excellent organizational skills and ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.Proper English, grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and punctuation.Use of computers and technology, including but not limited to email, internet, Microsoft Office, or equivalent software.LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTSA valid State Driver's License may be required.R13380198 daysPosition Type: Full‑TimeSalary: $15.15 to $16.15 Per HourJob Categories:Student Services > Librarian/Media SpecialistJob RequirementsCitizenship, residency, or work visa required.Contact InformationClaudia Bevins, RecruiterDistrict OfficePhone: 928-373-3458Email: Careers@craneschools.org#J-18808-Ljbffr
