Job Description
This is a part-time position working 20 hours per week. Specific schedule to be determined by the Library Director or Designated Library staff.
The Library Courier is a vital support position responsible for the safe and timely transportation of library materials between library branches and other designated locations within Onslow County. This part-time position requires a reliable individual with a strong work ethic, excellent driving skills, and the ability to work independently while adhering to established schedules and procedures.

Qualifications
Excellent driving skills and familiarity with Onslow County roads and traffic patterns; strong organizational and time management skills; ability to work independently and follow instructions; good communication and customer service skills.
Education, Experience, and Special Requirements
High School diploma or GED and one to to years of work experience.
Physical Requirements:
This work requires the regular exertion of up to 10 pounds of force, frequent exertion of up to 25 pounds of force and occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force; work regularly requires standing, walking and using hands to finger, handle or feel, frequently requires speaking or hearing, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, reaching with hands and arms, pushing or pulling, lifting and repetitive motions and occasionally requires sitting and tasting or smelling; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires visual inspection involving small defects and/or small parts, using of measuring devices, assembly or fabrication of parts within arms length, operating machines, operating motor vehicles or equipment and observing general surroundings and activities; work regularly requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions and occasionally requires wet, humid conditions (non-weather), working near moving mechanical parts, work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).

Salary will be based on qualifications, internal equity, budget, and market considerations.
Regular Onslow County employees have the ability to participate in a wide array of employee benefits including:
North Carolina Local Governmental Employees Retirement System
Eligible employees are automatically enrolled in the retirement system and must contribute 6% of their gross salary each pay period. Once eligibility requirements are met, employees will be able to receive monthly payments for life based on their salary, age, and years of service credit.
NC401k
The County contributes 1% of employees gross salary into the 401(k) account regardless of the employees deferral amount. In addition, the County matches employee deferrals up to an additional 4%.
Vacation Leave
Regular full-time employees earn 13.5 days of vacation leave per year. With each 5-year increment of employment, vacation accrual increases.
Sick Leave
Regular full-time employees earn 12 days of sick leave per year.
Paid Holidays
County employees receive paid holidays annually. The Board of County Commissioners may adjust the holiday schedule as deemed necessary.
