Salary Range: $45,796.40 - $68,694.60Job DescriptionWork under the direction of the assigned manager to perform basic repairs and maintenance on the interior and exterior of library facilities.Maintain building fixtures and equipment, including basic painting, carpentry, plumbing, tree trimming, and minor electrical systems.Deliver, move, and assemble furniture; install or move wall partitions or floor coverings.Change light bulbs, replace filters and belts in building equipment, and unclog plumbing stoppages.Adjust locks and make duplicate keys as needed; pick up and deliver equipment and supplies across the city.Maintain a safe and clean work environment and refer work requiring skilled professionals (electrician, carpenter, painter, plumber, mason, etc.).Perform various other semi‑skilled building maintenance and groundskeeping duties; may perform simple preventative maintenance on library vehicles.ResponsibilitiesPerform other functions (essential or otherwise) which may be assigned.TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDSMust be able to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing; operate basic power and manual tools; reach, bend, stoop, climb ladders, and lift and carry furniture or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONSWork is performed in a library environment and outdoors exposed to various weather conditions. Frequent travel to pick up and deliver supplies across the city may be required. Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and be on call 24 hours a day.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent and three (3) years' experience in general building maintenance; or any combination of experience and training which enables one to perform the essential functions.
