Position Goal: The Library and Technology Literacy Specialist provides leadership in the areas of library media and information technology literacy to create a high-quality library media program as an integral part of the school curriculum and to promote future-focused instructional practices and learning.
This role strengthens teacher instructional capacity by designing and modeling effective pedagogical practices and by creating innovative, learner-driven experiences that support information and technology literacy across the school environment.
At the elementary level, the position emphasizes development and management of a comprehensive media program, student research and information literacy, collaboration with teachers, the integration of technology and media literacy into classroom instruction, and support of media and technology resources. This role also involves direct student instruction of library media and technology integration lessons.
Qualifications: Certification by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction in a Library/Media Specialist (1902) or willingness to attain this license within two years of accepting position; Minimum five years teaching and/or leadership experience and such alternatives to the qualifications as the Board of Education finds appropriate and acceptable.
