Brief Description
The Board of Education of Spotswood Public is currently accepting applications to fill the position of Level III Department Chair of Secondary Academics/Secondary ELA Interventionist for the 2026-2027 school year. Salary will be based on the salary guide in effect.
Responsibilities
- Conduct teacher observations and evaluations in accordance with district procedures and state requirements
- Support secondary teachers through coaching, modeling, co-planning, and feedback focused on instructional best practices
- Teach secondary ELA intervention classes and provide targeted support to students requiring academic intervention
- Collaborate with the Curriculum & Instruction Department to support curriculum implementation and instructional initiatives
- Analyze student achievement and assessment data to support instructional decision-making and intervention planning
- Assist in the development, revision, and alignment of curriculum and instructional resources
- Support the implementation of district initiatives, professional development, and instructional programs
- Participate in department, grade-level, and intervention meetings as needed
- Monitor and support intervention effectiveness and student progress toward academic goals
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to support student achievement and growth
- Support new teachers and instructional staff through mentoring and ongoing instructional guidance
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation related to instructional programs and evaluations
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Curriculum & Instruction or Superintendent
Qualifications
- Valid NJDOE Supervisor, Principal, or School Administrator certification
- Teacher of English Certification
- At least five years of successful, full-time teaching
Salary Range
$87,723-$119,500 commensurate with experience
