Legal Invoice Analyst

Pay Rate: $30 - $35 per hour

Location: Minneapolis, MI

Duration: 6 Months

Summary:

• Perform quality assurance testing for the Legal Bill Analysis Center of Excellence (LBACOE).
• Conduct expert peer review of invoice analysts’ work using specialized legal expertise.
• Engage in expert-to-expert discourse with law firms to resolve disputed invoice adjustments.
• Support appeals mediation efforts and document the expert discourse for client review.
• Provide guidance on issues or opportunities within the Legal Bill Analysis process.

Responsibilities:

• Review Legal Invoice Analysts’ line item adjustments and non-adjusted invoice lines.
• Verify compliance with legal billing guidelines by law firms and vendors.
• Ensure accuracy of UTBMS task codes applied to invoice line items.
• Make further adjustments to invoice line items based on legal context and document reasons.
• Resolve law firm appeals by addressing requests for reconsideration using legal knowledge.

Requirements:

• JD or LLM required.
• Experience in legal billing and invoice analysis.
• Strong legal subject matter expertise.
• Excellent written communication skills.
