Legal Billing Specialist

Title: Legal Billing Specialist
Location: New York, NY (4 days onsite)
Target Start Date: ASAP
Type: (C, CTH, D): Contract (3-4 months with potential extension)
Pay Rate / Salary (Ranges OK): $20/hr on W2

This individual will communicate and collaborate often with the Legal team, cross-functionally across the company, law firms, vendors, clients, and investors.

Responsibilities

• Upload and process legal invoices.
• Monitor invoice statuses and resolve any submission errors or rejections.
• Support year-end reconciliation of law firm accounts by verifying outstanding balances, payment statuses, and resolving discrepancies.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors as needed to ensure timely and accurate invoice handling.
• Contribute to ad hoc projects as part of the larger Legal and Compliance team.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate college degree in a related field
• Prior experience in law firm or corporate law department
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Experience with CounselLink or Coupa is a plus
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Experience interacting with high level executives and able to manage up through attention to detail, strong initiative, ability to work independently, and a high level of confidentiality
• Track record of managing processes in a fast-paced environment
• Comfort operating within a dynamic environment and executing in situations where paths are uncharted
• Able and willing to provide executive support beyond the scope of a typical workday
