About the Position

This is a time limited position (NS-14). The Legal Assistance Developer is responsible for the statewide administration, coordination, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the Title III-B Legal Assistance Program within the Division of Aging and Adult Services (DAAS). This position provides leadership and technical assistance to Area Agencies on Aging (AAAs), legal service providers, and community partners to ensure compliance with the Older Americans Act (OAA), Administration for Community Living (ACL) regulations, state policies, and program requirements. The Legal Assistance Developer develops policies and procedures, oversees program performance, monitors contracts and service delivery, analyzes program data, prepares federal and state reports, provides training and technical assistance, and works collaboratively with stakeholders to ensure older adults have access to high-quality legal services that protect their rights, independence, and well-being.

What youll need to be Successful

Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the Older Americans Act, Title III-B Legal Assistance Program requirements, and applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and policies. Effectively manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. Interpret complex laws, regulations, policies, and guidance and apply them to program operations. Develop, implement, and evaluate statewide program policies, procedures, and strategic initiatives. Build and maintain productive working relationships with Area Agencies on Aging, legal service providers, government agencies, and community partners. Conduct comprehensive program monitoring, identify compliance issues, and recommend corrective actions. Analyze data and performance measures to assess program effectiveness and drive continuous quality improvement. Prepare clear, concise, and comprehensive reports, presentations, and correspondence for executive leadership and federal partners. Deliver effective technical assistance and training to providers and stakeholders with varying levels of expertise. Exercise sound judgment, professionalism, discretion, and ethical decision-making when handling sensitive or confidential information. Demonstrate strong leadership, initiative, and problem-solving skills in a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Typically requires a High School Diploma or high school equivalency and 5+ years of experience in a legal environment and may also require a paralegal certification. Hiring agency preferred qualifications: Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Social Work, Gerontology, Human Services, Business Administration, Political Science, Criminal Justice, Law, Public Policy, or a closely related field
