Job Summary
We are seeking a Commercial LED Lighting Sales Representative operating within Duke Energy service areas. This role focuses on industrial and commercial facilities of all sizes — from small shops, automotive/mechanic garages, and local warehouses to large distribution centers and manufacturing plants. The representative will identify opportunities, meet with decision-makers, and sell LED lighting upgrade solutions that reduce operating costs.
This position is best suited for someone who is highly self-directed, comfortable working independently in the field, and motivated by performance-based earnings.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, pursue, and close new business opportunities across industrial and commercial facilities of all sizes
- Conduct on-site assessments and walk-throughs to evaluate existing lighting
- Present cost savings and ROI clearly to business owners and decision-makers
- Build relationships with property owners, operators, and facility managers
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through close
- Prepare proposals, quotes, and basic lighting layouts (support will be provided)
- Maintain pipeline activity and CRM updates (support will be provided)
- Stay informed on product knowledge and offerings (support will be provided)
Qualifications
- Experience in B2B or commercial sales preferred
- Comfortable with field sales and visiting businesses in person
- Strong communication and closing ability
- Able to explain value in simple, practical terms
- Self-motivated with the ability to consistently generate and follow up on leads without close supervision
- Valid driver's license
Preferred Background
- Experience selling into warehouses, shops, or industrial environments
- LED lighting, electrical, or construction-related experience
- Candidates with existing relationships with business owners, contractors, or facility managers are strongly preferred
Compensation Structure
- Base salary plus commission- Performance-based incentives
- Vehicle allowance or mileage reimbursement
Schedule: Work M-F 8 am - 3:30 pm
