Position: Lecturer of Computer Science

Manchester University is now accepting applications for a Lecturer of Computer Science. In this role, you will deliver dynamic online instruction for the Fall 2026 semester, helping students build strong foundations in programming and modern software development. You'll play an essential role in shaping future technology professionals through inclusive teaching, mentorship, and active collaboration with faculty and students.

What You'll Do:

  • Teach undergraduate-level Computer Science courses such as:

  • Introduction to Programming (Python, Java, C++)

  • Object Oriented Programming

  • Software Requirements

  • Software Architecture

  • Design and update course content to reflect evolving technologies and industry standards

  • Deliver interactive lectures, labs, and assignments using best-in-class teaching practices and tools

  • Evaluate student work and provide timely, constructive feedback

  • Maintain regular virtual office hours and support student learning and development

  • Collaborate with faculty on curriculum planning, assessment, and departmental initiatives

  • Foster an inclusive, supportive, and engaging learning environment

What You'll Need:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related field

  • Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Python, Java, C++)

  • Effective teaching and presentation skills

  • Strong organizational and communication abilities

  • Experience and commitment to working with students of all backgrounds and skill levels

  • Proficiency in English
