Job Summary

Georgia College & State University is seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our faculty as a full-time lecturer in the School of Health and Human Performance. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Athletic Training and Exercise Science and contributing to the academic community through service and outreach.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach a variety of courses in Athletic Training and Exercise Science.
  • Develop and implement innovative teaching methods and curricula.
  • Mentor and advise students on academic and career goals.
  • Participate in departmental, college, and university service activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on interdisciplinary projects and initiatives.

This position carries a non-tenure track status.

Responsibilities

Teaching

  • This position carries a 5/5 teaching load (15 credit hours per semester or 30 credit hours per academic year) with a possibility of summer teaching.
  • This position also carries some service responsibilities without any requirements for scholarship/research.

Service

Lecturers are expected to support the advancement of the school, college and university mission by providing service to the institution.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements

  • A doctoral degree in a closely related discipline is expected (PhD, EdD, DPT, DAT, DSc, DC, MD).
  • Must meet SACSCOC accreditation requirements stated in C.S.3.7.1 (www.sacscoc.org (faculty credentials)).
  • BOC-ATC certification

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred Educational Qualifications

Additional certifications (NSCA-CSCS, NSCA-CPSS, NSCA-CSPS, ACSM-EP, ACSM-CEP, NHSSCA-HSSCC, NSCA-CPT, etc.) are desirable.

Preferred Experience

  • Higher education teaching experience; strong communication skills, ability to work collegially; and familiarity with innovative and creative teaching strategies is highly desirable.
  • Two years of clinical field-based experience in evaluation/rehabilitation in orthopedic injuries.

Proposed Salary

Maximum salary $61,000.00.
