The Health Sciences Division and Program of Nursing at UNM-Valencia is accepting applications for a Lecturer II or III in Nursing at UNM-Valencia. This posting is for a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure-track position. The position begins August 10, 2026.

Located about 30 miles south of Albuquerque in rural Valencia County, the University of New Mexico-Valencia Campus is a two-year branch community college associated with the University of New Mexico. With an emphasis on teaching excellence, Valencia Campus offers vocational and technical courses as well as academic transfer courses to the citizens of Valencia and northern Socorro counties. The faculty and staff serve a student body of approximately 2,000 each semester.

Salary: Base salary for this nine-month faculty position is $85,000. Summer teaching is possible if needed, and optional, with additional compensation. Office space and computer hardware and software will be provided, as well as an excellent package of benefits.

Summary of duties and responsibilities: Duties will include teaching the ADN program core curriculum, which includes scheduling courses and supervising labs as needed. Collects and analyzes data regarding student progress. Acts as a clinical resource and subject matter expert for the advisement of all program students. Assists in the recruitment, hiring and evaluation of faculty as well as recruiting students. Coordinates and conducts clinical training to include coordinating sites, documentation and student preparation. Collects and analyzes data regarding student progress and certification; and performs related duties as assigned. Will work with low-income, first generation, minority students, disabled students, students with diverse backgrounds, and veterans. Responsibilities also include maintaining attendance, scholastic, and student records, as well as posting and maintaining office hours, participating in college committees, curriculum development, outcomes assessment, professional development (directly related to teaching field), departmental projects, and community service.
