Primary Function

This cross-functional position will provide support to the Leave of Absence and Benefits teams to assist in the administration of the full life cycle of leaves of absence. The LOA & Benefits Coordinator will be responsible for continuous accurate leave tracking and reporting, and will administer benefit payment collection for employees on unpaid leave. This position involves coordinating data across multiple systems and operating units. The LOA & Benefits Coordinator will interpret and apply federal and state leave laws, company policy and collective barProducting agreements to ensure documentation and timeframes are compliant.

Required Qualifications

  • Associate s degree, or minimum 3 years equivalent combination of relevant education and experience

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including standard formulas and pivot tables

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Meticulous attention to detail

  • Exceptional customer service as well as the ability to manage confidential and time-sensitive information with care

  • Proficiency with basic math and calculations, comfortable with numbers and ability to balance a spreadsheet

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field

  • Experience in leave of absence management and/or employee benefit administration

  • General understanding of leave of absence process and applicable federal and state leave laws and regulations

  • Experience with HRIS platforms, leave management systems, and/or benefit administration platforms

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, track, and distribute statistical reports to internal stakeholders on a variety of LOA data points

  • Communicate with other departments including HR, Occupational Health, managers, timekeepers, and leadership on employee LOA status while preserving confidentiality

  • Identify and report on employees moving to COBRA status and provide communication

  • Respond to state requests for information to support TDI/TCI claims

  • Administer benefits communications and payment schedules to employees on unpaid leaves of absence

  • Process and track incoming benefit payments, working cooperatively with other internal departments

  • Respond to employee inquiries and advise employees on eligibility, coverage and other benefit matters

  • Performs other related duties as assigned
